1) Start installing your mats in one corner of the
room. If you are using a frame, set two sides of the frame on the
floor, making a corner and fasten them to the floor. Using the
layout that we sent you, start in the corner and continually work
your way out in all directions. You should always layout your mats
in a spiral pattern.
2) After each mat is
added, lay a 2x4 on the floor next to the mat and tap the 2x4 with a
rubber mallet to snug the mat up against the other mats. Do this on
both open sides of the mat if necessary.
3) If you are experiencing some gaps is the mats
as you install them, try swapping mats to eliminate the problem.
The mats are made out of foam and will vary slightly in length and
width.
4) After all the mats are laid out, make sure
everything is snug and there are no gaps in your floor. Then apply
the last two sides of the mat frame.
5) If you are not using a frame and are going
wall to wall, fill your entire area until you have just the small
gap left. Once everything is snug, take a measurement from the mat
to the wall. Add 1/4" to 3/8" to the width and that will be the
size you cut the mat too. So, if your empty space is 24" wide, you
will cut the mat to 24-3/8" wide. That way, when you put the mat
down, it will fit snuggly and you will not have to worry about
gaps. Continue doing this until all the remaining areas are
filled. See
trimming instructions for the proper way to cut the mats.
6) Congratulations, you are finished. Please
take some photos and email them to us so we can add them to our
site. Thanks!
